The Woodworks Trading, known as The W, is a quality driven independent coffee shop serving beautifully baked cakes and honest home-cooked food with an emphasis on health wellness and includes a wide range of vegan and gluten-free options.

Starting The W was born from being a single mum who wanted to show her son it's never too late to start over and follow your dreams with passion. With over 30yrs in the luxury goods industry I wanted a quality coffee shop serving the finest coffee with mature, polite confident and amiable staff. The W has fast become our second home and offers a friendly, warm environment, where we bring like minded discerning people together.

We stock wooden homeware items and and retail coffee chai homemade jams chutney and water kafir & krauts by The London Fermentary as we strive to eat well, live well and age well. Life isn’t perfect, where we can be organic and sustainable and appreciate individual things and not indulge or encourage mass production there is a way forward. In a world of such huge consumerism and waste, we aim to run the shop more simply, sourcing food for the menu locally and trying to be as environmentally friendly as we can. That means we buy well, cut waste, recycle everything in house, use compostable cups, takeout cutlery and napkins, plus loo roll that doesn't involve chopping down trees. We also welcome your well behaved four-legged friend, too. Disruptive dogs will be asked to vacate the property.

I wanted to bring something of my inherent inner desire to live life in a calm and more sustainable way to The W. My son is a constant reminder that happiness is not in possessions but in the environment we create. We really hope you enjoy your time spent at our coffee shop.

Our trading hours are as follows : Please note we do not take reservations. We will be CLOSED most BANK HOLIDAYS as our staff all have family commitments too.
